Data Security & Protection

How Bridge protects your student data and maintains FERPA compliance

Local-First Storage
Maximum Privacy

Student profiles are stored locally on your device using encrypted browser storage. This means sensitive information never leaves your computer unless you explicitly choose to use cloud features.

Benefits of Local Storage:

  • No risk of data breaches on our servers
  • Works offline - no internet required
  • Complete control over your data
  • Instant access without network delays
  • FERPA-compliant by design
Complete Data Isolation

Every educator's data is completely isolated from other users. You can only see your own students and IEPs.

Regular Educators

  • See only their own students
  • Cannot access other educators' data
  • No cross-contamination of records

Administrators

  • District-wide visibility (when needed)
  • User management capabilities
  • Audit and compliance oversight
End-to-End Encryption

In Transit

All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS 1.3 encryption (the same security banks use).

At Rest

Cloud-stored data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption, making it unreadable even if storage media is compromised.

Strict Access Controls

Multi-Factor Authentication

Available for administrator accounts to prevent unauthorized access

Role-Based Permissions

Users only have access to features and data appropriate to their role

Automatic Session Timeout
